Privacy Policy

In providing its smartphone application CoCoprin (hereinafter referred to as the SERVICE), Japro Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the COMPANY) will properly handle personal information provided by its customers in conformance with laws on personal information protection and other normative rules. Personal information collected by the COMPANY and customer information collected by this site will be handled as follows below.

1. Definition of Personal Information

Personal information includes the description in Japanese laws on personal information protection of information on an existing individual (name, date of birth, and other descriptive information which can be used to identify a specific individual); e-mail addresses, user names, passwords, credit card and payment information connected to a specific individual; hobbies, family structure, age, information on products and services purchased by the customer, and information on customer inquiries. Personal information is recognized to be attribute information for an individual.

2. Cookies and IP Address Information

Cookies and IP address information alone cannot be used to identify a specific individual, and thus are not considered personal information. When such information is used together with personal information, however, it shall be deemed as personal information. The COMPANY will disclose the purpose and methods for COMPANY-operated media when using cookies and IP addresses, even if it cannot identify specific individuals. Cookie information can also be refused through browser settings. If a service cannot be received if cookies are refused, this will be publicly announced.

3. Usage Purposes for Personal Information

Personal information obtained by the COMPANY through use of the SERVICE by the user is used for the following purposes:

  1. To provide the SERVICE
  2. To confirm details for SERVICE-related inquiries and as reference for surveys and responses
  3. To bill usage fees to users of pay services
  4. User age, gender and hobbies are used to improve the SERVICE, provide new services and decide materials for advertisements to post or send to the user
  5. To prevent usage formats in violation of the SERVICE terms of use
  6. To create statistical data on user usage formats (data is processed such that individuals cannot be identified in such data creation)
  7. To ship products, prizes and presents

4. Usage Limitations for Personal Information

The COMPANY will not handle personal information any more than needed to achieve the purposes of usage without advance consent of the individual. If personal information is obtained through merger or other means, it will not be used for anything outside the usage purposes before transfer without advance consent of the individual, with the following exceptions:

  1. When based on laws and ordinances
  2. When necessary to protect human life, body or property and individual consent cannot be obtained
  3. When necessary to improve public health or advance youth health education and individual consent cannot be obtained
  4. When necessary to cooperate with a national agency, regional government or person tasked by such a group to execute legally stipulated business and obtaining individual consent will or could obstruct the execution of said business

5. Proper Acquisition of Personal Information

The COMPANY will acquire personal information through proper means, not through deceit or other fraudulent means. The COMPANY will also be careful not to collect personal information for children of 15 years or younger without parental consent.

6. Notifications of Usage Purposes when Obtaining Personal Information

The COMPANY will publicly announce the usage purposes before obtaining personal information, with the following exceptions:

  1. When notifying the individual of or publicly announcing usage purposes could endanger the life, body, property or other rights and interests of the individual or third party
  2. When notifying the individual of or publicly announcing usage purposes could endanger the rights or fair profits of the COMPANY
  3. When necessary to cooperate with a national agency, regional government or person tasked by such a group to execute legally stipulated business and notifying the individual of or publicly announcing usage purposes will or could obstruct the execution of said business
  4. When the usage purpose is deemed clear from the state of acquisition

7. Changing Usage Purposes for Personal Information

When the COMPANY changes the usage purposes for personal information, purposes will be kept within reasonably close relation to the original usage purposes, and the new usage purposes will be notified to individuals or publicly announced.

8. Safe Control of Private Information and Employee Oversight

In order to safely manage personal information and prevent information leaks, loss or damage, the COMPANY will set rules for protection of personal information and provide proper and necessary supervision of its employees.

9. Oversight for Delegated Parties

If the COMPANY entrusts personal information management in whole or in part to another party, the party will be required to enter into a confidentiality agreement, or to consent to an agreement defined by the COMPANY, safely manage personal information and provide proper and necessary oversight.

10. Limitations on Provision to Third Parties

Excepting the items to follow below, the COMPANY will not provide personal information to third parties without advance consent from the individual:

  1. Based on laws and ordinances
  2. When necessary to protect human life, body or property and individual consent cannot be obtained
  3. When necessary to improve public health or advance youth health education and individual consent cannot be obtained
  4. When necessary to cooperate with a national agency, regional government or person tasked by such a group to execute legally stipulated business and obtaining individual consent will or could obstruct the execution of said business
  5. When the following items are privately or publicly announced in advance:
  • Provision to a third party is included in the usage purpose
  • Data items provided to the third party
  • Means or method of providing data to the third party
  • That provision of personal information to the third party will stop if requested by the individual

In the above, the following are not considered third parties:

  1. Parties delegated to manage personal information in whole or in part for an area needed to accomplish the usage purposes
  2. Partners if personal information is provided in connection with business transfer due to merger or other reason
  3. Shared users when personal information is shared between specific users and the individuals are notified in advance or can easily find out that the information is shared, along with the items of personal information being shared, the scope of persons sharing, and the name or nickname of the person responsible for managing usage purposes for the users and the personal information.

11. Notification of Provision to Third Parties and Changes

When personal information is shared among specific persons, the COMPANY will either notify individuals in advance or make it so that individuals can easily find out if usage purposes or the name or nickname of the chief administrator has changed.

12. Public Announcements on Items Related to Personal Information

The COMPANY will make it so that individuals can find out the following items related to personal information:

  1. Purpose for using personal information (except in cases where defined as not required by laws regarding protection of personal information)
  2. Inquiry contact for matters on personal information

13. Disclosure of Personal Information

If requested by an individual, the COMPANY will disclose personal information to its owner without delay. However, in the case that disclosure will result in any of the following, the COMPANY may withhold some or all of the information. If the COMPANY decides to withhold information, it will notify the individual to that effect without delay. Here, note that as a general rule, the COMPANY does not disclose information other than personal information from access logs.

  1. When disclosure could endanger the life, body, property or other right benefits of the individual or third party
  2. When disclosure will or could greatly hinder appropriate implementation of COMPANY business
  3. When disclosure violates other laws or regulations

14. Correcting Personal Information

When requested by an individual to make a correction, addition or removal due to incorrect personal information (hereinafter collectively referred to as “corrections”), in the absence of a specific procedure defined in other legal provisions, the COMPANY will survey the range needed to achieve the usage purposes without delay, correct the personal information based on the results and notify the individual of the changes.

15. Usage Suspension of Personal Information

When requested by an individual to stop using or erase their personal information which is being used outside the scope of the usage purposes previously announced or was obtained through deceit or other fraudulent means (hereinafter referred to as “usage suspension”), the COMPANY will conduct necessary surveys without delay, suspend usage of the personal information based on the findings and notify the individual. However, if suspending usage of the personal information has high costs or otherwise poses to be difficult, the COMPANY will devise an alternate plan to take the measures necessary to protect the individual’s rights and interests.

16. Exclusion of Liability

The COMPANY pays close attention to the information on this website but does not guarantee the accuracy of its content.
The COMPANY will not be held responsible for any trouble, loss or damages resulting from use of this site. Further, the website may stop or halt operation or change information without notice; the COMPANY will also not be held responsible for any trouble, loss or damages resulting from such situations.
Also accept that neither the COMPANY nor any third party operating the COMPANY homepage will be held responsible for any damage or losses arising from information the COMPANY homepage for the following:

  • Information posted on links off the COMPANY homepage
  • How up to date posted information is
  • Errors in posted information
  • Changed details in posted information
  • Information temporarily or permanently not provided due to COMPANY maintenance
  • Information temporarily or permanently not posted
  • Ability to browse information due to browsing environment or internet connection

17. Explanation of Reasons

Whether asked by the individual or not, the COMPANY will attempt to notify the individual with an explanation as to the reasoning when any of the following is decided:

  1. Usage purpose not to be notified
  2. Personal information not to be disclosed in part or in whole
  3. Usage of personal information not to be suspended
  4. Provision of personal information to third party not to be stopped

18. Revisions

When necessary, the COMPANY will revise this privacy policy. When revised, the latest version will be posted on this site in a timely fashion.
